A summary of the proposed service changes is described as follows.

Route 1 Fee Lane/BHS North โ€“ To correct for consistent on-time performance issues, BT proposes the following route changes: eliminate travel on Acuff Rd., and Prow Rd. Stops at Kinser & Rosewood, Acuff & Rosewood, and Prow Rd @ Meadows Hospital would be eliminated. The proposed travel pattern is north on Kinser Pike, west on the Cougar Pass loop before returning east on Kinser Pike for the inbound. Hours of service to remain the same. Service in the impacted area to be replaced by BLink microtransit. Rides may be booked at book.blink.rideco.com.

3 East College Mall/E.3rd Street โ€“ Bloomington Transit proposes to eliminate the AM/PM deviation that currently travels on Morningside Dr, Smith Rd, and 10th St for the morning and evening outbound service. It is proposed that the 3 East route use the same outbound and inbound travel that is currently utilized mid-day for all trips during the week. Hours of service to remain the same. Service in the impacted area to be replaced by BLink microtransit. Rides may be booked at book.blink.rideco.com.

  1. The 3 East College Mall/E. 3rd Street deviations that occur in the AM and PM hours are very useful for Bloomington residents on the east side of town who need to shop for groceries or pharmaceuticals. I would advocate for the 3E Route to remain as it is.

1N from the route optimization study would fix the on time performance issues and streamline the route.
Knocking out the 3e am/pm run is moving towards the green line in steps.
A Streamlined 8L running every 30-45 min would make this a non issue.

  3. Please keep the am/pm 3 east route as they are it helps a lot of people who would have to either take a cab or get on the 6 or 6 L and then have to transfer to the stop by the us post office on Pete ellis drive or the new stop on discovery parkway either way you have to cross a busy street to get to either stop. The blink will not honor the passes that some people already have and I do not think it will honor the crimson card that the IU students carry along with the staff and the faculty.

The idea of shortening the 3 line made my life much more complicated. Yes, some of us can use the 6 / 6L during the semester, but during the breaks the rides happen every hour and a half (!!), and the schedule is no reliable. Please don’t take away the last connection of Park Ridge / Park Ridge East!
