Beginning July 1st, BT and BT Access riders will be able to purchase bus passes on their mobile devices and use them to board the bus, no paper required! To bring mobile bus passes to Bloomington, BT has partnered with Token Transit for a one-year pilot program to employ app-based technology for purchasing bus passes. To begin, BT fixed route riders will be able to purchase Monthly Passes, and BT Access riders will able to purchase 10-Ride and 30-Ride passes. More pass options may become available as the mobile bus pass program is evaluated throughout the pilot program. Visit Token\’s website for more details:
The Benefits!
- Those who purchase Monthly Passes or BT Access Passes will no longer have to travel to the Downtown Transit Center or the Grimes Ln. admin building to purchase their passes
- Monthly passes are valid for 31 days from the first point of activation
- Mobile Monthly Passes are not bound to calendar months, so they fit your schedule
- Send-a-Pass option allows you to purchase a mobile pass and send it to a friend\’s mobile device through Token Transit\’s website
- Your phone is your bus pass!
Remember! Mobile passes are your ticket. Riders are responsible for keeping their mobile devices charged to present their valid ticket.
