IU Summer Break Schedule Changes

 

Effective Sunday, May 6 through August 18

 

Route 6 and Route 9 are operating reduced schedules

The following routes are not operating:

·        Route 7 Henderson/Walnut Express

·        6 Limited and 9 Limited

·        6 and 9 “Night Owl”

 

There will be no bus service on Memorial Day, May 28th

All routes and BTaccess will not be in operation. Offices will also be closed.

 

DETOURS

 

Route 1 North

The bus stop by the business school on Fee Lane, just north of 10th St. on the east side of the street is closed during daylight hours due to construction. The southbound bus stop on the west side of the street is open.

 

Route 8

Scheduled until May 23rd, Sare Rd just south of Moores Pike will be closed to through traffic. Route 8 will not service bus stops along the section of Sare Rd between Moores Pike and Rogers Rd. Route 8 will detour onto Moores Pike west of College Mall Rd/Sare Rd to High St to Rogers Rd and back onto Sare Rd. Bus stops along Sare Rd, south of Rogers Rd will remain open.

 

Routes 1 South, 2 South, and Route 7

Due to road construction on S. Walnut, Route 1 South and Route 7 inbound from the south are detouring via Walnut to east on 1st Street, to north on Lincoln, to east on 3rd Street and then resuming their regular routes. The following bus stops on these two routes are currently closed: Walnut and 2nd Street, Walnut and Smith Street, Walnut and 3rd Street.  Customers are advised to catch routes 1 South, 2 South, and 7 on Lincoln Street.

Most off-campus apartment complexes have convenient bus service to and from campus including Smallwood Plaza, 10th and College, The Lofts, Campus Corner, Covenanter Gardens, Bradford Place, Colonial Crest, Fountain Park, Town and Country, Meadow Park, Woodbridge I-II-III, the Barrington Apts., the Crest, Steeplechase, Woodlands, the Fields, Oakdale Square, Basswood, Forest Ridge, Bradford Ridge, Copper Beech, Rolling Ridge, Willows, the Woods at Latimer, Knightridge, Brownstone, Park Doral, Summit Pointe, Regency Court, Acadia Court, the Gardens, Hunter Ridge, Brandon Court, Timber Ridge, Winslow Ridge, Yorktown, Heritage, Maxwell Terrace, Walnut Knolls, Dunhill, Pigskin, and many more.

Many IU Residence Halls also have great service on Bloomington Transit. Residence Halls such as Eigenmann, Tulip Tree, Forest Quad, University Apts., Briscoe Quad, McNutt Quad, Wright Quad, Teter Quad, and Collins LLC are well served by Bloomington Transit routes.

Scheduled Meetings, and Other News:

The next Board of Directors meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 5:30 p.m. in the BT Conference Room at 130 W. Grimes Lane, Bloomington, Indiana.

The next Bloomington Council on Accessible Transportation (BCOAT) meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 17, at 6:30 pm in the BT conference room at 130 W. Grimes Lane. Please RSVP by calling the BT customer service manager at 332-5688.

The next scheduled class will be Thursday, May 10th at 2:00 pm at 130 W Grimes Lane. Please RSVP as dates and times are subject to change.
