UPDATE 8/16/19: Rural Transit Service Change

Effective Monday, August 19, 2019, Rural Transit\’s Ivy Tech/Park 48 service will no longer go into the Downtown Transit Center. Instead, they will meet Route 3 West at Whitehall Plaza at the bus stop in front of PLANET FITNESS. On weekdays, Rural Transit buses will meet Route 3 every 30 minutes up until 7 p.m. Rural Transit buses will wait for Route 3 bus for any transferring passengers.

The Rural Transit service from Spencer & Ellettsville/Owen County Connector will meet BT inbound Route 1 North at the Kroger north shelter on Kinser Pike at approximately 7:35 a.m. Transferring passengers from Rural Transit can board Route 1 North bus which would then take them to the Downtown Transit Center. Then, an outbound Rural Transit bus going to Ellettsville and Spencer would leave the Kroger north shelter at 8:10 a.m. and accept any transfers from the Route 1 North bus which would have dropped off at 7:26 a.m.

If you are transferring from BT buses to Rural Transit remember to ask the driver for a transfer slip when you board the BT bus. Hand the Rural Transit driver your transfer slip when you board. Transfers are valid for one hour after issuance.
