Effective Monday, August 19, 2019, Rural Transit\’s Ivy Tech/Park 48 service will no longer go into the Downtown Transit Center. Instead, they will meet Route 3 West at Whitehall Plaza at the bus stop in front of PLANET FITNESS. On weekdays, Rural Transit buses will meet Route 3 every 30 minutes up until 7 p.m.

It is time to get your K-12 student this school year\’s BT Student Reduced Fare IDs so they can ride Transit for only 50 cents ($15 for monthly bus pass). Bloomington Transit will be visiting Bloomington middle and high school lunch periods this month to give BT Student Reduced Fare ID cards to students. Check

We’ve listened to your concerns about strollers on buses and we’re pleased to report that we will allow strollers on buses with a few simple rules. Strollers can be parked in the wheelchair areas of the bus assuming these areas are not occupied by wheelchairs or other wheeled mobility devices for people with disabilities. Stroller

Kirkwood & Washington intersection is now open. All routes that serve Kirkwood are no longer detouring (Rts 1, 3, 4, 5).

Beginning July 1st, BT and BT Access riders will be able to purchase bus passes on their mobile devices and use them to board the bus, no paper required! To bring mobile bus passes to Bloomington, BT has partnered with Token Transit for a one-year pilot program to employ app-based technology for purchasing bus passes.

On Monday, May 27, all routes and BTaccess will not operate in observance of Memorial Day. BT offices and the downtown Transit Center will be closed.

Once again, and still only $12, students K-12 can enjoy unlimited Transit rides during summer break (May 25 – August 6, 2019). Summer Fun Passes go on sale Monday, May 20 at the downtown Transit Center at 301 South Walnut St M-F 6:45 am – 11:00 pm and Saturdays 8:15 am – 6:10 pm. BT

Tuesday, May 7, 2019 is Municipal Primary Election Day and Bloomington Transit is operating without charging bus fare.
