BTACCESS OPERATOR

We are currently seeking applications for BT’s ADA Paratransit curb-to-curb van service which provides transportation with people with disabilities. Desired candidates are those with strong customer service skills, commitment to safety, and a motivation to provide a vital public service. Previous driving experience is preferred, but is not necessary. BPTC’s professional training staff will guide candidates through hands-on paid training to obtain required CDL Class B licensing.

Wages start at $17.05/hr, including competitive benefits.

Candidates must be: 21 or older, have a good driving record, be fluent in English, be willing to work varying days and hours including weekends. Pre-employment drug screen, BMV license check, and felony background check required.

BUS OPERATORS

BPTC is currently seeking applications for fixed route bus drivers. We need candidates who enjoy working with people, are committed to safety, and have a good driving record.  Paid training program provided; full-time employment upon successful completion of training.  Pre-employment drug screen required as well as BMV license and felony background check.  Must be fluent in English.  State law requires applicants be 21 or older.  GED or HS degree required.  Previous experience not required.  Must be able to work varying days and hours including weekends. Wages start at $19.02/hour, including competitive benefits.

ROAD SUPERVISOR/ASSISTANT TRAINER

The duties of this position is to investigate accidents, observe bus operators on fixed route and BTaccess, provide street supervision to identify system and operational deficiencies; provide suggestions and implement corrective actions for system deficiencies; prepare training programs and materials to address any deficiencies; assist in training maintenance staff, Bloomington Transit fixed route operators, and Baccess operators to safely operate a variety of transit vehicles. This is a safety sensitive position. Incumbent in this position performs under the supervision of the Operations Manager. Collaborates with management staff in employee disciplinary hearings and proceedings. Collaborates with management staff to resolve employee conflicts, disputes, and complaints. Performs other duties as assigned.

FULL-TIME MASTER MECHANIC

Perform maintenance inspections and vehicle repairs on diesel buses, gasoline vans, and other vehicles.  Perform vehicle breakdown repairs on road.  Basic knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines and AC Systems repair required.  Prepare and document repair records.  Good physical condition/driving record required.  Some heavy lifting required.  Must be able to obtain/maintain CDL license with passenger endorsement following in-house training. 

Hours include nights/weekends. High school diploma or GED required. Pre-employment drug screen required as well as BMV license and felony background check. Starting wage is $25 per hour. 

FULL-TIME TRANSIT SERVICE ATTENDANT

Duties include cleaning and washing buses inside and out, fueling buses, cleaning facility and grounds; other duties as assigned. Experience in basic repair, maintenance and upkeep of vehicles required. Good physical condition/good driving record required.  Must be able to work in all weather conditions, late nights, and weekends. Starting wage is $15.76.
