We are currently seeking applications for 4 positions, described below.

Must be able to obtain/maintain CDL license with passenger endorsement following in-house training. Pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screening, and BMV and criminal background checks are mandatory.

BUS OPERATORS 

BPTC is currently seeking applications for fixed route bus operators. All operators begin on a part-time basis, with a track toward full-time employment. Upon reaching full-time status, operators are eligible for additional overtime hours. Desired candidates are those with strong customer service skills, commitment to safety, and a motivation to provide a vital public service. Previous driving experience is preferred, but is not necessary. BPTC’s professional training staff will guide candidates through hands-on training to attain required CDL licensing.

Candidates in training receive a training wage of $14/hr. Upon completion of training, wages start at $16.32/hr, including competitive benefits.

Candidates must be: 21 or older, have a good driving record, be fluent in English, be willing to work varying days and hours including weekends. Pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check, and Department of Transportation physical examination will be conducted for all candidates.

FULL-TIME MASTER MECHANIC

Perform maintenance inspections and vehicle repairs on diesel buses, gasoline vans, and other vehicles.  Perform vehicle breakdown repairs on road.  Basic knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines and AC Systems repair required.  Prepare and document repair records.    Good physical condition/driving record required.  Some heavy lifting required.  Must be able to obtain/maintain CDL license with passenger endorsement following in-house training. 

Hours include nights/weekends. High school diploma or GED required. Pre-employment drug screen required as well as BMV license and felony background check. Starting wage is $22.50 per hour. 

FULL TIME AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE PERSON

Perform preventative maintenance inspections and vehicle repairs on diesel buses, gasoline vans, and other vehicles.  Perform vehicle breakdown repairs on road.  Basic knowledge of diesel and gasoline vehicle service/repair required.  Prepare and document repair inspection records.  Secondary duties may include cleaning and fueling buses, and other duties as assigned.  Good physical condition/driving record required.  Experience operating transit bus or heavy trucks preferred.  Some heavy lifting required.  Must be able to obtain/maintain CDL license with passenger endorsement following in-house training.  Hours include nights/weekends.  Starting wage $15.76

FULL-TIME TRANSIT SERVICE ATTENDANT

Duties include cleaning and washing buses inside and out, fueling buses, cleaning facility and grounds; other duties as assigned. Experience in basic repair, maintenance and upkeep of vehicles required. Good physical condition/good driving record required.  Must be able to work in all weather conditions, late nights, and weekends. Starting wage is $15.45
